Maybe we'll see you next time. I try to send out reminders but sometimes I forget. ;)Juliette Wadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02879627074920760712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320269312957801390.post-51015729275372578962011-12-11T00:31:28.062-08:002011-12-11T00:31:28.062-08:00I'd love to make these too. This topic in particular interests me as I've studied quite a bit about this in Ghana where I've done some cross cultural work. One thing in Africa you see influenced heavily is government practices and politics. African governments are often very corrupt and buddy buddy systems which they learned from corrupt, favoritism showing Colonial Governors, for example.Bryan Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03942472363470824138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320269312957801390.post-47773066902201037242011-12-07T10:18:52.852-08:002011-12-07T10:18:52.852-08:00Thanks, MK! Just to chip in my $.02, the bit about technology levels was awesome. The whole stone/bronze/iron age isn't useful in the New World, where metallurgy by and large wasn't part of the tool set. On the other hand, flintknapping reached amazing artistic levels like nothing the Old Word had (most people haven't seen them, so here's a link to a picture example: http://blog.hmns.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/Eccentric-Flint-resize1.jpg).MKHutchinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07715686902529938959noreply@blogger.com
