It's definitely worth holding onto those lines.

Brad, you make a good point about moving your cool line to a later chapter - a chapter-opening line can work well at the beginning of a later chapter as well as the very opening chapter. It's important to have chosen the correct opening chapter, though. If your opening doesn't seem to be moving quickly enough, you might have started in the wrong place. Try to plunge readers right into an inciting event that puts your protagonist in the position of immediate action.Juliette Wadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02879627074920760712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320269312957801390.post-35151052583158504032010-07-16T09:31:31.867-07:002010-07-16T09:31:31.867-07:00I'm in love with the opening line of "Swo...I'm in love with the opening line of "Sword of Glass", but I've been told by more than a few that, although it reads well, my opening doesn't move quickly enough, so I'm in the process of rewriting it. I love my line, though, and hope to be able to keep it. Maybe as an opening line to a later chapter? I don't know, but I'll figure out somewhere to keep it alive.Bradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10646548242753417196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320269312957801390.post-41271528829169512852010-07-16T08:32:29.293-07:002010-07-16T08:32:29.293-07:00I keep a file called clips and I almost find homes...I keep a file called clips and I almost find homes for clips, even if it's in another story.
