Welcome to my new blog design! I'm trying to find a way of organizing things around here to make the blog easier to explore, and I appreciate your patience while I go about tweaking this and that. Suggestions are welcome...
My personal favourite way to browse old blog entries is to have all the tags listed in a sidebar. Easy to find a specific post, and easy to just pick a general subject I'd like to read a bunch of content about. Your tags are pretty straightfoward and generalized, so I think it'd work well here.
I like very much how airy and clean it is, suggesting space for thought.
Two columns is a good approach with so much information to organise. I use the same system, with links leading out of the blog on the left, and to posts mostly on the blog on the right. If you'd like such a clear division, perhaps the professional links could be on one side and the blog and community links on the other.
Thanks for the comments, Heidi, Porky, and Jamie! Heidi, I'm considering how to incorporate tags, but I think they'd need to be better organized than they are now. Porky, interesting suggestion. I'm trying to think through how to optimize the use of the columns.
It looks good and crisp. Personally though, I would bump your cover art up so that there's some variation in the white/gray dominant colors, but that's just me :).
My suggestion is to put your blog feeds selection back to "full." (Under Settings/Site Feed/Allow Blog Feeds.) I've been reading your blog through my RSS reader, but the new format is only allowing the blog post title to show up instead of the full blog post.

ReplyDeleteDone! :) I wish I could figure out how to get the post thumbnails to behave properly though.

ReplyDeleteYikes, JDsg. Sorry about that! It should be fixed now.
