Detailed link about POV techniques
You may have noticed that when I speak of point of view, I don't necessarily like to put a lot of stock in the simple distinction of 1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person. This is because a lot of what point of view really rests on is not pronouns at all, but all kinds of other factors. Today LaceWing at the Absolute Write forum put me onto this link. This is an article by David Jauss which goes into depth about point of view techniques. It's not for the faint of heart: it's a long article, and analyzes point of view in a way I'd call "crosswise," distinctly contrasting with the way POV is most commonly discussed. If you've reached the point where "person" isn't enough to satisfy you any more, I highly recommend it as food for thought.
